Hilltop Chapel FWB Church: Where Faith and Community Meet

Hilltop Chapel Freewill Baptist Church was founded in September of 1989 on North Fork

Road in Chapmanville, West Virginia. What began as a small gathering of 16 dedicated

members quickly grew into a vibrant spiritual community rooted in faith, fellowship, and

a deep commitment to serving others.

Over the years, the church became a beacon of hope and encouragement in the area,

ministering to the needs of its congregation and the surrounding community. In 2016,

Pastor Jeff Mosteller was called to lead the church. Under his faithful leadership, Hilltop

Chapel experienced renewed growth and spiritual vitality.

By 2021, the congregation had outgrown the original building on North Fork Road. With

prayerful consideration and God’s guidance, the church made a significant move to its

current location in Madison, West Virginia. The relocation marked a new chapter in the

church’s story, allowing for expanded ministry opportunities and continued growth.

Hilltop Chapel is home to people from a variety of denominational backgrounds who

have found a place where they can worship God in Spirit and in truth. Week after week,

they gather to hear the Word of God preached boldly and without apology. This

welcoming and uncompromising approach to worship and teaching has helped foster a

strong, unified body of believers.

In 2024, recognizing the need to further accommodate its growing membership, the

church purchased a lot adjacent to the current property. In early 2025, ground was

broken on a brand-new sanctuary—a step of faith and a testament to God’s continued

blessings on the Hilltop Chapel family.

Through every season, Hilltop Chapel Freewill Baptist Church has remained steadfast

in its mission to share the love of Christ, build up the body of believers, and be a light in

the community. As the church looks to the future, it does so with gratitude for the past

and hope for the days to come.
